Ola Electric Scooter is eligible for discounts of up to Rs 50,000 under the FAME-II subsidy scheme. This is a significant sum, and it would result in fierce rivalry in the rapidly evolving electric scooter market. In India, the e-scooter category is essentially non-existent at the present, with only a few companies such as the Ather. Ola Electric Scooter has been generating a lot of attention since it just accepted reservations. The reservation is only available online and costs Rs 499. The e-scooter will be delivered right to the customer's door. The official launch is scheduled for August. Subsidies from the central and state governments would total around Rs 50,000. Let's have a look at the numbers.

FAME-II Subsidy for Ola Electric Scooters:

An e-scooter is eligible for Rs 15,000 per kWh battery capacity under the FAME-II subsidy guidelines. The Ola Electric Scooter's battery pack is expected to be 3.6 kWh. This equates to a straight discount of about Rs 50,000 off the ex-showroom pricing. Furthermore, the states of Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra provide even more incentives to encourage the rapid adoption of electric vehicles in India. The e-scooter will be available in three models: Series S, Series S1, and Series S1 Pro. Because the discounts are only available for two-wheelers that cost less than Rs 1.50 lakh, it's safe to infer that Ola won't charge more than Rs 1.50 lakh for the top-of-the-line Series S1 Pro. This results in an effective price for the customer of less than Rs 1 lakh, which is quite competitive.

Attributes & Aesthetics:

The Ola E-Scooter has a simple and sophisticated front end. The front end will have twin LED headlamps with a DRL ring and slim LED turn indicators on the front apron. According to photos, the scooter will have a single-side suspension up front and a horizontally placed mono-shock in the back. The scooter will include 12-inch alloy wheels and wide grab rails in the back, as well as a sleek taillight. The instrument console will be a straightforward all-digital setup. App-based keyless entry, dual-projector headlamps, external charging port, LED DRL and taillight, all-digital instrument cluster, and a black-coloured floor mat are among the other features on the list.

Specifications:

The 3.6 kWh battery pack will accelerate the e-scooter from 0 to 60 kilometres per hour in about 6 seconds. Its closest competitor, the Ather 450X, takes roughly 6.5 seconds. The e-range scooters will be roughly 150 kilometres, which is adequate for city use. A 5A socket or a 'Hypercharger' can be used to charge the scooter. By the time the Ola Electric Scooter opens, there will be Hypercharging stations in 100 locations, with plans to expand to 400 cities soon after. With the addition of FAME-II subsidies, the popularity of the Ola Electric Scooter is set to grow.
