Okaya Group's electric vehicle division launched a line of vehicles on Monday, marking the company's entry into the electric two-wheeler market.

In addition, the firm announced three new plants to be built in Neemrana (Rajasthan) by 2023-25, according to a release. The company already operates a two-wheeler manufacturing unit in Baddi (HP) and wants to open another in Haryana.

The Okaya EV two-wheelers, which are available in two models: AvionIQ and ClassIQ, are equipped with all of the necessary technologies to manage the rising volatility of Indian power circumstances, according to the company.

The e-two-wheelers are available across the country for costs ranging from Rs 39,999 to Rs 60,000, according to the statement.

"Okaya EV is well positioned to bring out future e-2 wheelers and motorcycles, with two state-of-the-art R&D centres exclusively for EVs in India and one overseas. We also plan to construct showrooms, distribution centres, and service centres around the country to assure a continuous supply of these cars "Okaya Power Group's Managing Director, Anil Gupta, stated.

The business also announced the opening of two experience centres, one in Delhi and the other in Jaipur, to coincide with the launch of the vehicles.

"Moreover, we have urgent plans to roll out four products in this market this fiscal year, all of which will be totally 'Made-in-India' and will help the government achieve its goal of one crore electric scooters on Indian roads by 2025," Gupta said.

Okaya has solved three significant concerns, according to the firm, through e-two-wheelers: a lack of acceptable quality spares and services, sufficient infrastructure and finances, and the majority of entrants' petrol scooter backgrounds, which are hindering consumers from turning electric.

Okaya EV, on the other hand, believes that the battery, electronics, and software are what matter in an e-scooter.

Okaya has over three decades of experience in battery manufacture, as well as 35 years of electronics excellence through Microtek and 19 years of Okaya Infocom software experience, according to the business.

Okaya has also been delivering electric vehicle batteries since 2016-17 and electric vehicle chargers and charging stations since 2019, establishing itself as a vital player in India's aim to build EV charging infrastructure, according to the company.
