Mahindra is poised to unveil the XUV700 three-row SUV on August 14, a day before Independence Day, following multiple teases and spy pictures. Here are five things to look forward to from the XUV500's spiritual successor.

Modern Design:

The XUV700 will be the first Mahindra vehicle to have the new 'Twin Peaks' emblem, which is sleeker and more upright than the previous rounded-off version. Aside from that, the spy pictures and teasers show a modern, clean design philosophy with flush-fitting door handles. A redesigned front grille with an unusual slat design, LED headlights with characteristic C-shaped LED DRLs, five-spoke alloy wheels, and a sharp back end with arrowhead LED tail lamps are among the other highlights. The spy pictures and teaser also revealed that the three-row SUV will be available in red and blue body colours.

Premium Interior:

When it comes to premiums for the XUV700, Mahindra is leaving no stone untouched. Previous teasers revealed a 10.25-inch dual-screen configuration for the digital driver's display with cockpit domain controller technology and the touchscreen infotainment system, both of which would be powered by Mahindra's new AdrenoX infotainment software. It will also be India's first model with Alexa AI connectivity and a Sony 3D sound system with roof-mounted speakers. Cruise control, automatic headlamps and wipers, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, keyless entry with push-button start, an air filter, and dual-zone temperature control will all be standard.

Advanced Protection:

Onboard the XUV700, Mahindra has teased some fascinating safety features like high beam assist and customised safety alerts. Multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, driver tiredness warning, and possibly Level 1 autonomous technology with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, akin to the MG Gloster, should all be standard equipment.

Powerful Propulsion:

The Thar's 130PS 2.2-litre diesel and 150PS 2-litre turbo-petrol petrol engines could be upgraded for the XUV700. While the base trim may only get a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, the higher-end trims may get a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (only one in the segment). The diesel engine will have four driving modes, each with a unique name: Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom (Individual).

Price and Competitors:

Mahindra could start taking reservations for the XUV700 as soon as tomorrow, with a September launch possible. Prices are expected to begin around Rs 16 lakh. Three-row SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari will be stiff competitors.
