Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) announced on Tuesday that its construction arm has received a "large" contract from the government's 'Jal Jeevan Mission' for its water and wastewater treatment division.
A big order is one with a value of Rs 1,000-2,500 crore, according to the business.
"The company has been awarded a contract by a state-owned utility to undertake rural water supply projects with functional house tap connections (FHTC) as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission," L&T said in a statement.
By 2024, the Jal Jeevan Mission of the Union government aims to deliver clean and sufficient drinking water to all rural Indian homes via individual household tap connections. Source sustainability measures, such as recharge and reuse through greywater management, water conservation, and rainwater collecting, will be obligatory aspects of the programme.
