To pave the ‘path to profitability,' OYO plans to hire around 300 engineers in the next six months.

By doubling emphasis on its IT and product teams, OYO claims to be on the “path to profitability.” The hotel and hospitality company plans to hire approximately 300 technology specialists in the next six months, including software developers, engineers and product managers, designers, and data scientists, in positions ranging from entry-level to senior leadership.

Over the last year and a half, we've been doubling down on our technology and pioneering several industry-first innovations to enhance customer experiences and maximise revenues for SMEs [small and medium enterprises] of the hotels and homes [sector] Inducting elite tech talent is a primary goal for us as an organisation that is firmly devoted to addressing challenges with technology, said Dinesh Ramamurthi, OYO's chief human resources officer.

OYO, based in Gurugram, is looking to hire full-stack teams with expertise in machine learning, data engineering, information security, and Android and iOS developers.

In a press release, OYO stated, The increased design, product, and engineering teams will be responsible for building long-term capabilities for OYO from the ground up and updating the current tech stack.

OYO claims to have a tech stack of over 50 products and 500 micro-services, including OYO, OYO OS, and CO-OYO, which are consumer and partner apps. A dynamic pricing tool called Tariff Manager, OTA (online travel agencies) performance management, Discover OYO, customised suggestions, Yo! Chatbot and more are among the company's artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML), and analytics-driven apps.

According to the corporation, the Yo! Chatbot answers 85 percent of customer questions and concerns. Meanwhile, the company's machine learning-based pricing system does up to 60 million "micro-optimisations" per day.

According to the company, the recent hire would help it grow into a global full-stack provider for small and mid-sized hotels and households. It goes on to say that OYO's improved app ecosystem results in a two-fold boost in revenue for new partners who join the network.
